How to advertise on AgriMarket NG
Reach thousands of active buyers, sellers, and businesses across Nigeria. This guide covers everything from preparing your advert to tracking its performance.
Before you start — what to have ready
Having these things prepared before you open the campaign wizard will make the process much faster:
- The product, service, or business you want to promote
- A short headline or message — what you want people to know
- A banner image (see image guidance below)
- A destination — where clicking the advert should take the viewer (your listing, your business profile, or an external website)
- Your preferred campaign dates — when you want the advert to run
- Which placement suits your audience best (homepage or a specific category)
Choosing a good image
Your banner image is the first thing buyers see. A clear, well-composed image makes a significant difference to how your advert performs.
Good practice
- Use a clear, high-quality photo of your product or business
- Make the subject easy to recognise at a glance
- Keep any text large enough to read on a phone screen
- Leave a small margin — avoid placing critical content right at the edges
Avoid
- Overcrowding the image with too much text
- Blurry, dark, or low-resolution photos
- Misleading images that don't match what you're promoting
- Watermarked or copyright-protected images you don't own
Image requirements
- Accepted formats: JPEG, PNG, WebP, SVG
- Maximum file size: 5 MB (enforced by the upload form)
- Dimensions: No fixed size is enforced by the system. We recommend 1200×628 px for Homepage Banner ads and 1200×300 px for Category Banner ads. If your image dimensions are clearly unsuitable for the placement you selected, the AgriMarket team may request changes during review.
Writing your advert
Your headline and call-to-action (CTA) should be short, direct, and relevant to what you're promoting. The examples below are for illustration — replace them with your own message.
Example — product seller
Fresh Farm Produce Delivered in Lagos
Shop Now →
Example — service provider
Reliable Cold-Chain Logistics for Farm Produce
Learn More →
These are examples only. Write a headline that accurately describes your own product or service.
Choosing where your advert appears
AgriMarket NG currently offers two placement types:
Homepage Banner
Your advert appears on the homepage and marketplace pages — the highest-traffic areas of the site. Best for broad brand awareness or promotions you want every visitor to see.
Category Banner
Your advert appears on a specific product category page — for example, Grains & Cereals or Poultry. Best for targeting buyers who are already browsing the category your product belongs to.
- Different placements may have different prices — you will see the options when you create your campaign.
- Availability can depend on your chosen campaign dates and current capacity.
- Choose the placement most relevant to your audience for the best results.
Step-by-step: creating your campaign
Open Advertising
Go to /advertise to see available advertising options and live pricing. When you're ready, click Start Advertising.
Your advertiser account
Your advertiser account is created automatically the first time you access the advertising area — there is no separate registration form.
If you are a Founding Business member, your complimentary advertising entitlement is applied automatically and your payment will be waived.
Create a campaign
Click New Campaign to open the campaign wizard. You will be guided through four steps: choosing your ad type, setting campaign details and pricing plan, adding your creative, and reviewing before submission.
Choose placement and dates
Select Homepage Banner or Category Banner (see placement guidance above). Then set your start date — the end date is calculated automatically from the pricing plan you choose.
Add your creative
Upload your banner image and choose your destination — where clicking the advert takes the viewer:
- One of your active AgriMarket product listings
- Your AgriMarket Business Directory profile
- Any external website URL
Review the price
Pricing plans are shown during campaign creation. Select the plan that suits your budget and campaign length. Founding Business members with a complimentary entitlement will see their payment waived at this stage.
Submit for review
Click Submit for Review. Your campaign is reviewed manually by the AgriMarket team before it goes live. You will be notified of the outcome by email.
Campaign goes live
Once approved, complete payment to activate your campaign (unless your entitlement waives the fee). Your advert begins serving on your chosen start date.
Track performance
Monitor your campaign from the Analytics page in your advertiser portal. You will see:
- Impressions — how many times your advert was displayed
- Clicks — how many times someone clicked your advert
- Click-through rate (CTR) — the percentage of impressions that resulted in a click
Analytics are available for active and completed campaigns.
Campaign ends
When your campaign reaches its end date, it moves to Expired status and stops serving. You can view its final performance data in Analytics at any time. To advertise again, simply create a new campaign.
What happens during review
All campaigns are reviewed manually by the AgriMarket team before going live. There is no automated content filter — a real person checks your submission.
The review team will check that your campaign:
- Accurately represents the product or service being promoted
- Does not advertise prohibited, illegal, or inappropriate content
- Has a working destination link
- Has a usable creative image (clear, relevant, and suitable for the placement)
- Is placed in the correct placement type for the creative format
These are the checks the AgriMarket team applies during manual review. They are not automated system rules.
If changes are requested or your campaign is rejected
If the review team needs changes, your campaign is returned to Draft status with a note explaining what needs to be updated. If it is rejected, you will see the reason on your campaign page.
In both cases, you can edit your campaign and resubmit for review. Open the campaign from your Campaigns page, make the requested changes, and click Submit for Review again.
After your advert goes live
Once your campaign is active, you can track it from the Analytics page:
- Impressions — each time your advert is shown to a visitor counts as one impression.
- Clicks — each time a visitor clicks your advert and is taken to your destination.
- CTR (click-through rate) — clicks divided by impressions, shown as a percentage.
Campaigns run until their end date, then move to Expired status automatically. Pausing a campaign is not currently available to advertisers — if you need to pause a live campaign, contact us using the details below.
Tips for better results
- Promote one clear message. Adverts that try to say too many things at once are less effective.
- Use strong product photography. Real photos of your actual product or farm tend to perform better than generic stock images.
- Link to a relevant destination. Send buyers directly to the listing or page most relevant to your advert — not just your homepage.
- Keep your CTA simple. "Shop Now", "View Listing", or "Learn More" are clear and easy to act on.
- Consider timing. Advertising during harvest season or before major market periods can improve results for agricultural products.
- Monitor your performance. Check your impressions and clicks regularly and use what you learn to improve your next campaign.
Results vary by product, placement, and timing. AgriMarket NG does not guarantee specific impressions, clicks, or sales.
